I have a P4 1.5 in a system that uses rambus memory. Can I take that CPU out and use it a DRR system?

System Dell 8100 with:
P4 1.5
128MB
Geforce 2MX 64MB
40GB HDD

IF you mean can you take the P4 out and use it in a different motherboard that supports DDR the answer is yes. I take it the CPU is a socket 478 ? If so there are so many motherboards out there it isnt funny ! I would go for a Intel 865 based motherboard unless you really want to send some $$ for a 875.

DDR2 is out but its mainly on LLGA775 based intel boards but man IT ROCKS ! Benchmarks of it and my new system are in the image gallery in the benchmarks section (Link at top of forums)

It a socket thats all I know. I is for a friend. His second IDE channel died. I though I could get a board that uses DDR and up it to 512 and replace the MB.

Yes you can get a MB. You know Jim Collie dont you ? If not PM me and I can get you his contact info. He can look at your processor and sell you a MB all in one stop =)
